Remember that post where I admitted to taking Monkey for a drive to help him get a lil' nap in? Welp...I decided to document this past week.
Oh, and today he took a nap in his tent. That means....drum roll please...HE TOOK A NAP IN THE HOUSE!!! NO CAR RIDE NECESSARY!
I've started this week off with a little challenge for Monkey and me. Absolutely no t.v. for an entire week. Challenging? Yes! Worth it? Yes! I've noticed that Monkey has gotten to be a little bit too infatuated with TreeHouse. (The Canadian version of Nick Jr.) He hasn't been playing toys and using his imagination like he once was. I've also noticed I watch WAAAAAY too much t.v. while Ben is studying. Those hours of television could be used for something so much more productive. I mean, haven't I been trying for about five years to learn French? Pretty sure if I would have worked on it everyday for five years I would be fluent by now.
So far, the first two days have went very well. Monkey doesn't seem to miss t.v. that badly. We play together a lot more, read more stories, and TAKE NAPS! (Can you tell I'm excited about the naps?)
If you're wondering how I get Monkey to not cry and complain about not getting to watch cartoons, it's pretty easy to explain. Sunday night I unhooked the cable and dvd player. When he turned on the t.v. Monday morning and saw there was static on every channel, he totally believed my story of a "broken t.v."
