..........................................................
Everyday starts out the same. Laundry, make up the beds, bake something yummy, clean/tidy up the apartment. And everyday, I have my little handy helper copying everything I do. Yep, Monkey loves to help me put the laundry in the wash, fold the clean laundry, throw the blankets on the bed, bang around in the pots and pans, and wipe the floor with his washcloth. Its super cute actually. We usually play Tom Jones and dance around too. And thats our morning in a nut shell. Exactly what we do everyday until nap time rolls around.
What we do every morning. Except this morning. When it got time to "bake something yummy," Monkey was a bit fussy. {actually, he was screaming at me because he couldn't see what I was doing} So I had to hold him the whole time while trying to make bran muffins. Which isn't easy, hes one chunky monkey. Anywho, he let me set him down to look at the muffins baking while I cleaned up the mess. I always turn the oven light on so he can stand and peek inside and repeat over and over while pointing, "Wuz zat? Wuz zat?"
* For the rest of the story I have included some illustrations to help you get a better feel for the situation.*
Well the next thing I know, Monkey has jumped up and grabbed hold of the oven door handle and is using his weight to pull it open.
Of course I freak out and slam it shut.
It doesn't sound like a huge incident, but at the time my heart literally jumped into my throat and I was 110% sure my baby boy was gonna be as crispy as a Cheeto. But alls well that ends well...right? I now have to guard the oven like a hawk.
But the day ended awesome. We had homemade pizza. {And don't worry Monkey didn't pull any fast ones with the stove}
Best Pizza I ever ate:
· Spinach & feta with fresh tomatoes
· Pizza Hut Classic pepperoni {when they don’t skimp out on the cheese}
· Papa John’s Thin crust cheese with the little package of spices sprinkled on top
· Mellow Mushroom’s entire menu
· Papaleno’s pep with green peppers
