Wow! Lately it’s felt like spring has sprung! I woke up today and it was pouring the rain! Not snow but RAIN! Everything was melting and the temperature was 7C. Perfect hoody weather.
But of course there’s a downside to all the many feet of snow melting everywhere. Slush happens. Not just happens but takes over. It’s everywhere. And it makes it incredibly hard to get around. As soon as I pulled my car out into the back alley way to drive to my visiting teaching appointment, I was stuck. Bad. Luckily, two very nice construction workers were making their way up the alley behind me. So they were super nice {and unable to turn their vehicle around} and pushed my car out of the slush. Real gents.
Then when my visiting teaching companion and I were walking on the sidewalk, making our way to our second sister to visit, we were stuck in a GINORMOUS sidewalk river up to our ankles. {Definition of “sidewalk river” – when the slush has completely melted and become nasty smelly brown water and is now traveling downhill to the gutter}. Nasty stuff. Like naaaaaaassssttttyyyy. I had knit boots and let’s just say my feet were super wet. And nasty. Naaaaaaasssssttttyyyy. It makes me want to barf when I think about it.
Anyway, the morning was awesome. We stripped Monkey down to his diaper and let him go crazy finger painting. He was a natural. I think hubby was trying to size up his artistic skills. As a mamma, I of course thought my child created a great piece of “art.” Needless to say, it will be hung up in his room. J
Now to go eat some homemade hummus, pita, and curry. Mmmmm.
List of places we’ve lived:
> Richmond, Kentucky
> Atlanta, Georgia
> Vancouver, Washington
> Las Vegas, Nevada
I love how kids just love being filthy and making "artful" messes! I actually think his art is beautiful as well, you can just see his little hand and feet prints. Love it. Also, the "sludge" IS pretty gross. All this crazy snow has to melt somewhere, right? haha
ReplyDeleteSnow slush is crazy, right?! I have to drive through a huge river of it on my way home and I'm always worried it's going to kill my car's engine or something!
ReplyDeleteTavin is a great artist. I really love the pictures. Great photography skills.
ReplyDeleteMichelle, I know right?? It's like each time you go out in the slush it feels like a little off-roading adventure!
